Monica is an applied mathematician and Assistant Teaching Professor at Adelphi University. Her areas of interest include Numerical Analysis, Data Science, Mathematics Education, the role of Pop Culture in Mathematics, and the History of Mathematics.
Her current research focuses on the convergence, stability, and error analysis of numerical schemes for partial differential equations; longitudinal analysis of national-level healthcare data to address the needs of medically underserved populations; and exploring the connections between pop culture and mathematics.
She is the immediate Past Chair of the AWM Student Chapters Committee, a member of the EvenQuads Committee, and currently serves as a Metro NExT Coordinator for the MAA’s New York Section.
She also finds solace in outdoor activities, such as hiking along with her mini dachshund dog named Suga and exploring new places, which serve as a reminder of the fluidity and beauty of the natural world she studies. In her spare time, Monica enjoys staying up-to-date with the latest BTS trends and namjooning in NYC.
